Dialing Dylan

Okay, so this happened a couple weeks ago but I thought I would post it. I don't put much about Dylan on the blog cause he doesn't do as much stuff as the other kids. It wasn't funny when it happened but it's a great story to share. So here's the story:

I had just gotten off the phone with my friend when Zach came upstairs from playing soccer with a bloody toe. I put Dylan and the phone down on the ground while I tended to Zach's needs. While I am washing off Zach's toes and putting neosporin and a band-aid on I hear Dylan pushing buttons on the phone. I heard a dial tone so somehow he got it on speaker phone. Then I heard him push a few more buttons. I figured he wouldn't be able to dial anything and would hurry and get the phone away from him as soon as I was done with Zach.

Then I hear it start ringing about the time I am finishing putting the band-aid on so I run to get the phone. Before I could hang it up. Someone comes on the the line and says, "911, what's your emergency." I was horrified. I didn't know what to say. I quickly explained that my baby got a hold of the phone and somehow dialed 911. I apologized profusely and vowed to never let him get at hold of the phone again. They got my name, address and phone number. I thought that was the end of it.

About 20 minutes later there is a knock at the door. I opened the door and standing there were 2 police officer. They are required to come check if everything is okay. What an embarassing ordeal. Zach and Savannah learned that you never call 911 unless it is an emergency. I am still working on Dylan.

Christmas Fun

We had a fabulous Christmas Season. It seems like it gets more hectic each year. But we had a lot of fun. We started off December by going to dinner for Matt and my Dad's birthday (they share a birthday) with all my siblings and spouses. It was fun to get together without all the kids.

It seemed like we went to a million Christmas parties. Our babysitter sure made a lot of money this December. Savannah and Zach had fun at the Smith's Christmas party. There was a special surprise visitor who happened to stop by with a gift for all the children. Santa asked Savannah what she wanted for Christmas. She replied, "5 lipsticks." Not 4, 3, 2 or 1 but, 5 lipsticks. Then he asked all the kids what the best part of Christmas is? Savannah's answer was LIPSTICKS!

Zach asked for Legos. He is really into Legos and is a really good builder.

Zach's other thing that he is into right now is Starwars. He and his cousin Nathan both got Storm Trooper helmets. They were both surprised to see that they got the same thing Christmas morning. They had fun running around playing Starwars. Even the big kids got in on the action by stealing the helmets.

Best buds!

Starwars fun with Zach and Nathan.

I think Savannah really believes she is a princess. She is such a girly girl. She got all kinds of princess stuff for Christmas. Santa even brought her the "5 lipsticks" she asked him for. They came in a little purse and she takes that thing everywhere she goes. Zach got some Lipsmacker also and then went on to sell them to Savannah for $5 a piece. Savannah would pay anything for lipstick.

Another happening while on Christmas break. Zach lost his second loose tooth. Zach, Savannah and Dylan were all playing on the floor in the kitchen while I was making some sugar cookies. Dylan got so excited and kicked Zach in the mouth. He tooth came right out. It was soooo loose but he would never let anyone pull it out. He had lost the other tooth on the bottom and the loose one was moving over into the middle it looked really silly. He kept telling me to pull it out while he was asleep. I glad to have that tooth gone!
